Abstract

1,150,913. Typewriters. ALLM€NNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA A.B. 15 Sept., 1966 [16 Sept., 1965], No. 41180/66. Heading B6F. [Also in Division H1] An insulated conductor intended to be cut up into lengths and used for wiring equipment is provided with markings where it should be cut together with markings indicating the terminal points in the equipment between which each length is to be connected. As shown a plastics covered stranded conductor 3 is intermittently fed by devices 4 and 5 through a programme controlled typewriter 1, friction rolls 7 maintaining the desired tension. A measuring device 6 controls the advances according to data on a punched tape 2 which also controls the typewriter which employs a flying typing sphere. The points at which the cable is to be cut is marked on the insulation and the addresses of the terminal points between which. the lengths when cut are to be connected are printed on the insulation at the ends of the marked lengths. A device 9 cuts notches adjacent these marked ends to facilitate removal of the insulation after the conductor has been cut into lengths. A drum or bobbin 8 stores the completed conductor. A device to apply quick. drying colour to the conductor and a heater to dry the colour may be included.
