1,149,698. Pressure gauge. G. RAINERO. Feb.22, 1968 [Feb.25, 1967], No.8717/68. Heading G1L. In a mercury column pressure gauge, such as for use in tyre pressure measurements, a tube 3, closed at its upper end, is provided below the closed end with an opening 4 communicating with atmosphere through a valve 6 automatically operated in response to the mercury level so that the valve 6 is open when the mercury level is below the opening 4 and closed when the mercury level is above the opening 4. Two graduated pressure scales 11 are provided, one for pressures when the valve 6 is open and one for when the valve 6 is closed. The float operated valve 6 may be replaced by an electromagnetically operated valve.
