Abstract

1,149,365. Dobbies. STAUBLI & CO., GEB. 26 May, 1966 [1 June, 1965], No. 23532/66. Heading D1E. A reversible double-lift open shed dobby has reading needles 38 to 41 which act on two rows of draw needles 28-30 and 29-31, the needles 29-31 being acted on by a draw rail 35 for forward running and the needles 29-31 being acted on by a draw rail 34 for reverse running. The draw rail 35 has notches and is movable transversely so that it operates alternately on the needles 29-31 which are connected to upper and lower arrester hooks 10, 11 respectively. Similarly the draw rail 34 acts on the hooks 10, 11 by way of the needles 28-30. The draw rails are reciprocated out of phase with each other so that, during forward running and after selection of the needles 29- 31, the draw rail 34 passes ineffectively under the needles 28-30 when they have been raised by a lifting rail 36 to allow the pattern drum to turn. Similarly, for reverse running and after selection of the needles 28-30, the draw rail 35 passes ineffectively under the needles 29-31 when they have been raised by a lifting rail 37 to allow the pattern drum to turn. The reading needles 39, 41 act on the draw needles 29-31 and the reading needles 38, 40 act on the draw needles 28, 30 and the draw needles, when selected, are moved by their respective draw rails to tilt the arrester hooks 10 or 11 so that an attachment hook 9 or 9' may engage with its arrester hook when the baulk 6 is oscillated by bars 7 or 8.
