Abstract

1,147,926. Transistor amplifying circuits. RADIO CORPORATION OF AMERICA. 5 Jan., 1968 [27 Jan., 1967], No. 831/68. Heading H3T. In a transistor high-frequency amplifier handling signals of large amplitude, the inherent capacity 25 between collector and base is not constant, but varies with signal amplitude. To compensate for the effect of this as seen by the load 18, a variable capacitance diode 20 is shunted across the load 18, being in series with a D.C. blocking capacitor 19 and shunted by resistor 21. The arrangement may also be applied to an amplifier of the common base type (Fig. 2, not shown).
