Abstract

1,146,111. Capacitors and electrets. BRITISH INSULATED CALLENDER'S CABLES Ltd. 6 Feb., 1968 [7 Feb.. 1967], No. 5687/67. Heading H1M. A convolutely wound capacitor comprises two metal foils 11 and 11<SP>1</SP> each foil being enclosed by insulating material 12 and 121 respectively. The folds 14 and 141 are made at opposite ends for adjacent foils with each fold being in register with at least one of the edges of the adjacent foil. Modifications include, extending foil 16 and 16<SP>1</SP> beyond insulating material to assist connections of electrodes, making foils 16 and 16<SP>1</SP> of folded metal strip such that metal taps can be inserted between foils, and placing insulating material of single thickness between 14 and 14<SP>1</SP> to increase voltage working of capacitor.
