Abstract
1,145,326. Filters. LIBBEY-OWENS-FORD GLASS CO. Sept. 27, 1966, No. 43063/66. Heading G2J. [Also in Division C7] A filter comprises a transparent substrate having adhering thereto a transparent lightmodifying film composed of 88-98% gold, 1-6% germanium and 1-6% chromium. The film may be overcoated by a transparent protective layer of an oxide of aluminium, zirconium, cerium, titanium or silicon or mixtures thereof. The film may be 125-225Š thick and the oxide coating 0À1-1 mil thick. The film and coating may be applied by vapour deposition in the same or different apparatus on to e.g. a heated glass substrate. The filter may be used as a glazing unit.
