Capillary-action lubricators. - Lubricant is applied to the axles of railway and tramway vehicles by fibrous mate rial D saturated in oil contained in a perforated metal casing A placed in the axle-box. One or more longitudinal or transverse corrugations a in the casing A form form pockets B to hold a reserve supply of oil. The axle-box may be fitted with an oil-evel indicator such as a turned-up pipe projecting from the side of the box. The casing A is retained in position by spring action against the sides of the axle-box.
