A suspension bar for a paper file comprises a channel having one limb 3 at one side and a second limb 4 at the other side which is longer than limb 3 and which is folded back on itself and formed with notches 11 for suspension rails, the mouths of the notches being at the fold line 9 and the root edges 13 being a greater distance from the channel base 2 than the free edge 8 of the first limb 3. The limb 4 is also formed with notches 14 to locate filing slings which are slid with a folded edge into the channel 7 formed between the two folds of the second limb 4. Indexing arrangements.-The suspension bar 4 has notches 17, 18 which locate an elongated transparent plastic channel of the same general section as the bar and formed to embrace it. An interposed indexing strip is retained in between the two parts.
