Abstract
1,143,693. Derricks. WARNOWWERFT WARNEMUNDE VEB. 14 Sept., 1967, No. 41897/67. Heading B8B. Load lifting apparatus, e.g. on a ship, comprises cross-trees 4 mounted on pillars 3, a derrick jib 1 movable between the cross-trees, interengageable discs 5 rotatably mounted on the cross-trees and having recesses 7 for receiving therebetween the jib 1, and wheel segments 9 on the discs 5 for engaging a plate 8 on the jib. The recesses are large enough to receive also the load supporting means 2, and the discs 5 engage one another when both recesses 7 lie on one side of a line passing through the axes 6 of the discs. The latter can be locked in various positions by catches 10, 11 thereon and by catch engaging means mounted at positions 12, 14 which are releasable-by cables 13.
