In a mineral-mining machine in which a cutter drum 7 is rotatably mounted at one end of a boom to be driven by a scraper barcarrying, endless chain drive circulating longitudinally about the boom to co-operate therewith in conveyance of mined mineral away from the drum over the longitudinally extending central upper surface of the boom, the surface is upwardly curved to ensure that the scraper bars of the chain drive are caused always to bear against and clean the surface of any mineral likely to adhere thereto.
