Abstract
1,142,906. Making gratings. A. MENTIS. 9 May, 1967 [20 May, 1966], No. 21571/67. Heading B3A. [Also in Division D1] A metal grating comprises bearer bars 1 interconnected by cross stays in the form of rods 2 which are threaded through openings 3 near the top edge of the bars 1 and are secured in position by subsequently flattening the portions of the rods 2 extending between the bars into a rectangular cross-section. After positioning the rods within the openings in the bars 1 the grating is forwarded by feed roll 9 to cause the rods to pass between rollers 8 to effect the flattening. Subsequently the cross stays are turned through 90 degrees to cause the narrower edges to project uppermost.
