Abstract
1,142,487. Guitar slide bar. W. E. SMITH. 27 May, 1966 [28 May, 1965; 3 May, 1966], No. 24034/66. Heading G5J. The slide bar device shown enables an Hawaian guitar to be played by a performer in a standing position. It consists of a metal rod 23, which in the form shown is tapered, and which lies across the strings under the pressure of the middle finger 20 and which is supported by a loop 17 of metal-covered wire which encircles the index finger. The loop is covered with a non-metallic material. A lateral projection 21 overlies and contacts the fourth finger.
