1,142,245. Stabilizing urea. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 7 Aug., 1967 [8 Sept., 1966], No. 40205/66. Heading C2C. [Also in Division C1] A stabilizer for urea consists of 0À05-5% by wt. of a hydrolysis inhibitor consisting of a polyhydric phenol and/or a quinone. The molar ratio of phenol to quinone may be 0À1-3 to 1. The phenol may be catechol, pyrogallol or quinol. The quinone may be o- or p-benzoquinone or o- or p-naphthaquinone or various nuclear-substituted derivatives, 2,5-dimethyl p-benzoquinone being preferred.
