Abstract

1,141,914. Rests. F. SIROLA. 12 Aug., 1966, No. 36308/66. Heading B3T. A work support assembly securable to a tool slide in a lathe comprises a supporting member 26 mounted in vertical slotted supports 30 which extend from a base member 20 the member 26 being vertically adjustable in slots 34 and pivotable about a horizontal axis. The supporting member 26 is provided with a number of sized apertures 36, 38 to accommodate workpieces of different diameter, the apertures being provided with thrust and radial bearings 48, 46 to provide rotary support of the workpiece during machining. The assembly is attachable to the machine slide by the base member 20 and screws 21, 24, and moves with the tool slide as the cutting tool traverses the workpiece.
