Abstract

1,140,826. Making slip rings. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. 27 Sept., 1967 [28 Sept., 1966], No. 43985/67. Heading B3A. [Also in Division H2] A slip ring for a dynamo electric machine is formed by severing a portion from a copper tube using steel wheels so that inwardlydirected ribs are formed at the points of severance, these ribs are then bent towards the centre of the severed portion and uniformly distributed indents 15, Fig. 2, are formed in at least one of the end ribs, these ribs securing the ring to an insulating hub after this has been moulded in position. In forming a multiple slip ring assembly a portion of copper tube prepared as described above is provided with troughs 17, Fig. 3, on its external surface using steel rollers, holes 20 are then punched through the material at the base of the trough, and after the insulation has been moulded in position the material at the base of the trough is removed by turning.
