Abstract

1,140,594. Securing windings of dynamoelectric machines. C. A. PARSONS & CO. Ltd. 29 June, 1967 [28 Sept., 1966], No. 43256/66. Heading H2A. A dynamo-electric machine, e.g. turbogenerator stator, has slot embedded conductors 2 wedged by two side members 4a, 4b which engage recesses in the sides of the open slot mouth, overlap a portion of the conductors, and are mutually separated by a space containing at least two wedges 5, 6 having their wedge-shaped surfaces 5a, 6a extending longitudinally of the slot and being relatively movable in this direction. The members may be of a moulded or extruded epoxy resin glass laminate, phenol-formaldehyde resin impregnated asbestos, nylon, or other semi-rigid plastics and in the embodiment shown are interconnected by a cross member 4c. The members and wedges may extend the whole slot length or be divided into discrete lengths; they may be sprayed with P.T.F.E. to assist relative motion, and have between them flexible rubberized asbestos strips. Access to the wedges, which may be of epoxy resin glass, may be gained through slots in the member 4.
