Abstract

1,139,816. Barrels. A. M. KENNEDY. 11 Sept., 1967 [15 Sept., 1966], No. 41195/66. Heading B8D. A collapsible barrel comprises a series of staves 13 notched at each end to receive a base 10 and a lid 11, the whole being surrounded by a flexible envelope 18 of rubber, plastics, &c. and a support ring 15 engaging the staves. The ends 19, 20 of the envelope are beaded, and sealing rings 12 lie between the beads and the base 10, &c. The parts may be separated and collapsed for transport. In a modification, the envelope is formed with four tyres (21 . . . 24), Fig. 4 (not shown), separately inflated to erect the barrel, and two support rings (25, 26) are provided. The barrels may be cylindrical in shape. The staves may be attached to the envelope.
