Abstract

1,139,385. Stereo-microscopes. BAUSCH & LOMB Inc. July 12, 1967 [July 22, 1966], No. 32170/67. Heading G2J. To enlarge the magnification and working distance of a stereo-microscope, a single objective 11 forming parallel image rays 13, 13,' of every point on an object surface 12 is aligned with a beam divider 15 for directing the rays 13, 13,' into a pair of mutually similar stereo lens groups 23, 24, there being a diaphragm 25, 26, between the beam divider 15 and each lens group 23, 24, with apertures 27, 28, which partially overlap each other optically in proximity to the objective axis 14, so that both lens groups 23, 24, use the central area of the objective 11 in common. As shown the diaphragms 25, 26, are contiguous to the side and top faces respectively of the cubic beam divider 15.
