Abstract

1,139,248. Terminal blocks. AMP Inc. 1 May, 1967 [20 May, 1966; 26 July, 1966], No. 19909/67. Heading H2E. An insulating terminal block 1 designed to be mounted in a support rail has a pair of resilient legs 7, 8, formed with detents 9, 10, the legs extending beyond the detents and being joined by a strut 12 at their ends remote from the block. The block, which is made of nylon, is retained in position on the rail by the rail edges 4, 6, which clip between the detents, 9, 10 and shoulders 3, 5 respectively. Stabilization is provided by the pressure of strut 12 against the base of the channel forming the rail due to the elasticity of the legs 7 and 8 which are deformed when the block is in position on the rail. The shoulders 3 and 5 slope away from the rail to permit the insertion of a lever to remove the block from the rail.
