Abstract

113,862. Main, W. P. March 26, 1917. Drilling-machines.-In tool turret 13 for drilling, tapping, and like machines, the toolholders 25 are adapted to be clutched automatica.lly to the driving means as they arrive at the working position. The holders 25 are pressed inwards by springs 34, but the clutch teeth 30 are kept out of engagement, except when a holder is in its lowest position, by a fixed cam 15 which acts on the forks 31. The gears 29 are kept in engagement with the driving gear 20 by springs 35 and the turret is locked by a spring pin 46.
