[Also in Division B2] Surfaces of implantable prostheses and denture liners and base material, which are made of a silicone having pendant aliphatic or cycloaliphatic groups, are rendered anticoagulative by grafting heparin thereto. The grafting may be effected by subjecting the silicone to ionising radiation and contacting The substrate with heparin. The radiation may be from a high energy electrode accelerator or may be X-rays or gamma-irradiation, eg. from CO 60 . The haparin may be dusted on or brushed on and may be in the form of a powder, paste, or dispersion.
