Abstract
1,130,759. Otterboards. F. J. LUKETA. 23 Dec., 1965, No. 54547/65. Heading A1A. An otterboard or trawl door comprises a dihedral plate 10 having a resilient edge formed by a number of detachable sections, such as shown at 14, consisting of a rubbery strip secured on a metal part 96. One set of curved edge sections is adapted to be used with a number of plates of differing lengths, together with appropriate straight edge sections, to form differing sizes of otterboard. A ballast tank B and a float C provide stability and are interchangeable whereby, with the towing warp fixed to the appropriate hole 52 or 54 in the towing bridle, the otterboard can be used on either side of the net.
