Abstract

In the domestic water supply system of each of a block of apartments there is incorporated in the tank of the system or the overflow pipe from the tank a pair of mutually insulated electrodes. The electrodes are bridged, when water commences to overflow from the tank, to permit of completion of an electrical circuit when a power source and current indicating means is connected across terminals of a circuit connected to the electrodes. The terminals are situated outside the apartment so that the system overflowing into a discharge pipe common to all the systems can be determined without access having to be gained to any of the apartments.
