Abstract

1,129,752. Bearings. TOYO BEARING SEIZO K.K. 26 April, 1966 [26 April, 1965], No. 18260/66. Heading F2A. A sealing cap for a ball or roller bearing comprises a cylindrical portion 2 having radial projections 6 radially aligned with respective recesses, so that the portion 2 may be inserted in a counterbore 11 of a bearing race with the projections engaging a groove 12 in the counterbore. In Fig. 2 a ring of spaced tongues 6 are cut in the portion 2 and bent outward to form the projections and recesses. In Fig. 5 (not shown), tongues of two rings are staggered. In Figs. 6-7 (not shown), lugs (19) and recesses (21) are formed by deformation of the second portion (2). The sealing cap carries an oil seal 8.
