A two- or more-lobed input cam 10 rolls the teeth 26 of a stationary (or rotary) flexible gear 14 into mesh with an outer ring gear 32 comprising individual axially spaced ring gears 30 connected by radial slots to axially extending flexible cantilevers 36 on an output shaft 34 (or to a stationary member), which cantilevers allow torsional deflection of the flexible gear teeth 26. One face of each ring gear 30 is recessed at 66 to carry lubricant from mating axial bores 64 supplied from the centre of the cam 10. The flexible gear 14 may be the output member with the outer ring gear 32 stationary.
