Abstract
1,126,771. Bearings. AUTOMOBILES M. BERLIET. 4 Jan., 1966 [12 April, 1965], No. 294/66. Addition to 1,016,069. Heading F2A. In a bearing assembly comprising two elements, one of which comprises ferrous metal having a layer of cadmium thereon and the other of which comprises light metal based on aluminium having a layer of aluminium oxide thereon as described in the parent Specification at least one of the elements has its bearing surface provided with grooves which are indined to the direction of rotary or rectilinear movement. The grooves are inclined at an angle of 50-90 degrees to said direction of movement, are 0À05 to 0À5 mm. deep, are 0À5-4 mm. apart and are produced by knurling or hammering. In an embodiment, a bush made of light alloy and a steel shaft are each provided with inclined grooves, the shaft afterwards being coated with cadmium.
