Abstract

1,125,464. Plugboards. D.E.B. ELECTRONICS Ltd. 1 July, 1966 [8 July, 1965], No. 136/68. Divided out of 1,125,463. Heading H2E. A programming board for electric circuits comprises metal strips 11, 12, (Fig. 2), mounted on opposite faces of an insulating sheet 10 with apertures 13 passing through the strips and sheet at selected points, the apertures in a strip being wider than the corresponding apertures in the sheet. The sets of strips are preferably arranged at right angles, as shown, and may be joined by printed conductors 14 to edge contacts 15 or to terminal pins or other connectors. One set of strips 16 (Fig. 4) may be relatively thick and secured to the sheet 10 by screws 17, with terminal pins 19, 20 provided. In both types of board, the enlarged strip apertures are provided so that the threaded pin 1 of a coupling element such as shown in Fig. 4 and as claimed in the parent Specification does not contact both strips 11, 16 thereby short-circuiting an electric component housed in the element. The strips may be of copper coated with nickel then gold and the board may be mounted in a frame 21 carrying indicia.
