[Also in Division G3] A sliding plate valve closure 43 is loaded to the closed position by a compressed air, water or oil pressure actuated piston-diaphragm (54, 55), Fig. 1 (not shown), and acts as a pilot valve controlling the pressure supply from the inlet (63), Fig. 3 (not shown), of a valve closure (35), loaded to the closed position by a spring (40), to a chamber (62) of a piston (39) integral with the closure (35); excessive inlet pressure acts on the unbalanced end of the stem 49 to unseat the closure 43 against the loading of the piston-diaphragm (54, 55) whereby the piston (39) is displaced and valve closure (35) opens.
