Abstract

A patterned flock-coated material is prepared by coating a base material with a curable rubber-based adhesive, depositing flock upon the adhesive to form a pile and passing the resultant flock coated material through the nip between a set of rollers at least one of which is heated and patterned, the flock surface being in contact with a heated and patterned roller. Suitable adhesives are cross-linkable adhesives such as cross-linkable polyurethane adhesives as well as synthetic and natural rubber adhesives in solution and latex form. The heated roller may be heated by jets burning town gas positioned close to the working surface.ALSO:A patterned flock-coated material is prepared by coating a base material with a curable rubber-based adhesive, depositing flock upon the adhesive to form a pile and passing the resultant flock coated material through the nip between a set of rollers at least one of which is heated and patterned, the flock surface being in contact with a heated and patterned roller. Suitable adhesives are cross-linkable adhesives such as cross-linkable polyurethane adhesives as well as synthetic and natural rubber adhesives in solution and latex form. The heated roller may be heated by jets burning town gas positioned close to the working surface.
