Abstract

1,121,596. Mounting heating elements in furnaces. UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY. 17 April, 1967 [24 June, 1966], No. 28566/66. Heading H5H. [Also in Division F4] Heating elements 10 are mounted in the refractory tunnel 1 of a high temperature oven, by using hoist 14 in sealed upper compartment 13. The hoist 14 is adjustable in position over the elements 10 to be replaced, and comprises a motor-driven tape spool which carries a grab actuatable by push rod 15. Rod 15 is manually controlled through gloves 16 which extend into the compartment 13. The compartment 13 and the tunnel 1 may be filled with argon, hydrogen or a mixture thereof.
