Abstract

1,121,321. Hopper discharge. F. & R. ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. 6 Aug., 1965 [19 May, 1964], No. 20664/64. Addition to 1,076,972. Heading B8S. The slide valve 10 of Specification 1364/63 is provided rigidly with a frame 11 running on rollers 7 of frame 9 and with inclined members 12, a rubber pad 13 being positioned between each member 12 and deflector 4 of the hopper to prevent escape of material. Valve cleaning device (Fig. 3).-The slide plate 35 which closes the aperture beneath deflectors 31 at the bottom of the hopper is provided with a rubber sealing pad 44 held in position by a member 45 resiliently sprung at 41 to prevent leakage of material. Additionally the blade 35 is guided at its side edges by guides 48. A rubber pad 33 is provided to clean plate 35. Fig. 2, (not shown).-The valve plate 10 is provided with shoes 19 which work upon a fixed cam 20 so that the plate in the closed position is urged upwards and tightly seals the discharge aperture of the hopper.
