Abstract

Paint compositions for use on metals, stated to be highly adherent and anti-corrosive, contain a dichromate of an organic base. In examples, a specified paint composition contains " Epok 1060/75 " resin, iron oxide, talc, CaCo3, blanc fixe, white spirit, dipentene, xylene, solutions of Pb and Co naphthenates, and a dichromate of one of the following bases: N,N1,N11-triphenylguanidine, alpha - naphthylbiguanide, benzoguanamine or 2,4,6-trianilino-s-triazine.ALSO:Paint compositions for use on metals stated to be highly adherent and anti-corrosive, contain a dichromate of an organic base, of which a large number are described in the specification.ALSO:The invention comprises the dichromates of certain classes of acyclic and cyclic amidines and guanidines; primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary aliphatic or cycloaliphatic amine bases; quaternary phosphonium hydroxides and tertiary sulphonium hydroxides.
