A mine roof support girder system consists of two beams 10 spaced apart by a member 12 which is shaped as shown and provided with a spherical seating for a pit prop 23, the members 10, 12, 22 being interconnected by bolts 16 with the interposition of packing pieces 17 as necessary. For cross-sectional shape of member 12 remote from the prop seating, Fig. 3 (not shown) should be referred to.
