The discharge of materials from hopper 3 is made through vertical slots 6 formed in discharge shoot 4 and is controlled by cylindrical valve 7 carried pivotally by ring 9 which is carried by handle 16 pivotally mounted on crank lever 15. The apparatus is sealed by diaphragm 18. The bottom closure 5 of shoot 4 may be provided with an upwardly directed cone.
