Abstract

1,118,044. Flexible ducting; joints for ducting. DUNLOP CO. Ltd. 7 Jan., 1966 [14 Jan., 1965], No. 1606/65. Headings F2G and F2P. Flexible ducting 1, e.g. of rayon fabric coated with polyvinyl chloride and having a longitudinal seam incorporating a rib 3, has at least at one end thereof a hoop 5 within a pocket of the ducting material and a flexible skirt 7 ending in a hoop 9. The hoop 5 is deformed and after insertion through the hoop 6 of ducting 2 is allowed to recover the normal circular shape thereof, after which the skirt is unfolded and disposed over the joint. In a modification the skirt is disposed within the ducting. The hoops each comprise a continuous length of wire formed into a hoop, the turns of the wire being bound at intervals with strips of adhesive tape.
