A caravan has an upper central part 4 which telescopes by hydraulic jack mechanism over a lower central part and similarly telescoping side parts 1, 2 which also slide inwardly to collapse the structure. Canvas awnings 6, 9a are extendable from their stowed-rolled positions to provide additional space.
