Abstract

1,116,744. Knitting-machines. EDOUARD DUBIED ET SIE, SOC. ANON. 22 Sept., 1965 [22 Oct., 1964], No. 40367/65. Heading D1C. In a circular machine an electromechanical needle selection system comprises two superposed electro-magnets 5, 6, having flat pole surfaces, and needle jacks 4 selectively pivotable about either of two "floats" 9, 10 held against one of said energised magnets, into an operative or inoperative position. Each jack is pivoted about a ramp face 23, and maintained in position by cams engaging the projecting ends 16, 17 of the jacks. The end surfaces 13, 15 of operative jacks are pivoted into the range of a lifting cam (14, Fig. 4, not shown) and of the needles respectively. Inoperative jacks are pivoted clear of the lifting cam.
