Angle-measuring appliances.-An instrument for testing the accuracy of squares &c. comprises a base-piece a which is preferably circular, and a pillar b having its longitudinal surface turned or otherwise treated so as to be parallel to its axis and mounted with its axis perpendicular to the surface of the base-piece a. The ends of the pillar b are wholly or in partexactlyat rightangles to its axis, and the pillar may be secured by a set-screw c. Lines on the pillar b parallel to its axis and radial lines on the base-piece a may be provided to act as guides.
