Abstract

1,115,007. Laminated films. NATIONAL DISTILLERS & CHEMICAL CORPORATION. 11 April, 1965, No. 55817/67. Divided out of 1,115,004. Heading B5B. The subject matter of this Specification is identical with that described in Specification 1,115,004, but the claims relate to a method of forming a laminated body comprising establishing laminar flow of a plurality of plastic materials along respective separate ducts, laminarly joining the resulting laminar streams under pressure, and then moving the joined materials in laminar flow in a divergent flow path towards a discharge die orifice for extrusion together therethrough, whereby the laminarly joined materials are extended laterally prior to discharge from the orifice, the plastic materials being such that during the said lateral extension after lamination within the die, there is substantially no interfacial friction therebetween. Three or more streams of plastic material may be laminarly joined and laterally extended, and at least two of the materials may be of different composition and different mechanical or chemical properties.
