Abstract

1,111,057. Packages. EASTMAN KODAK CO. 31 Oct., 1966 [18 Nov., 1865], No. 48774/66. Heading B8C. A box 10 for holding, e.g., film slides is packaged by inserting it in an inner liner 13 of stiff paper or light cardboard which is in turn inserted in an outer carton 22 of somewhat thinner paper. The liner flaps 19, 20 are lightly glued together leaving a projecting tear tab 14. To complete the closure, end flaps 26 are glued together, leaving tab 14 projecting, Fig. 2 (not shown). To open the package, tab 14 is pulled, initially causing rupture of the carton 22 and of the seal between flaps 19, 20. Further pulling withdraws the box from the carton, see Figs. 3, 4 (not shown).
