Abstract

Compositions comprise a substantially crystalline polymer of a mono-1-olefin having a molecular weight exceeding 200,000, and 5 to 50 parts by weight per 100 parts of the composition of carbon black of particle size exceeding 200 <\>rA. The polymer may be polyethylene, polypropylene or an ethylene/propylene copolymer. The carbon blacks may be furnace, thermal or acetylene blacks. Examples describe compositions of polyethylenes of molecular weight 250,000 and 290,000 and carbon black of particle size 384 <\>rA. The compositions may be used in the manufacture of pipes and tubes.
