Abstract

1,107,976. Arc-rupturing. OTTERMILL SWITCHGEAR Ltd. 20 Feb., 1967 [18 March, 1966 (2)], Nos. 12041/66 and 12042/66. Heading H1N. An arc chute for an airbreak circuit-interrupter comprises a housing having insulating sidewalls 7, a pair of insulating plates 9 located against the sidewalls by cooperating projections 10 and recesses or apertures 8, and a number of metal plates each located at each side in notches 11 in the plates 9 and extending (at 15) between the plates 9 to maintain the plates in position. Shorter metal plates 17 may be disposed between the plates having the extensions 15. The plates may be of steel and have their upper ends supported in notches in plates 18 which may be riveted at 19 to the sidewalls or secured in a like manner as the plates 9.
