Abstract
1,107,752. Bearings. WICKMAN SCRIVENER Ltd. 26 July, 1965 [21 May, 1964], No. 20988/64. Heading F2A. A fluid bearing comprises at least three outer bushes 7, 8, 9, 10 of identical cross-section having eccentric bores and being connected together with the bore axes spaced but parallel, an inner bush 11, 12, 13, 14, fitting within each outer bush, the inner bushes being of identical cross-section having eccentric bores and being connected together so that each has the same orientation relative to the associated outer bush. The inner and outer bushes are releasably secured together. In Fig. 1, the thinnest portions of the outer bushes 7, 8, 9, 10 are spaced at 120 degrees about the axis of bore 6 and abut the thickest portions of the inner bushes 11, 12, 13, 14. A maximum diameter shaft is thus journalled. To receive a smaller shaft the inner bushes are rotated within the outer bushes, and then releasably secured to allow adjustment for wear.
