Abstract

110,651. Grand, H. H. Billon-. Dec. 12, 1916. Spray carburettors.-In a carburettor having a butterfly throttle b with radial passages g, h leading to fuel orifices in the periphery of the throttle, the casing is provided with recesses k, q, concentric with the throttle spindle c, against which the fuel is discharged as the throttle opens. The recess k is interrupted by two angular hollowedout parts l, Figs. 1 and 4, and the recess q is formed in a member o mounted in the casing a, part of the member o being semi-cylindrical. The fuel orifices are controlled by metallic wires i secured in position by screws j. The throttle spindle e is fitted at one end with a control lever, and at the other end with a fuel-supply fitting x having an inlet member 14, a filter 11, and a valve 1 normally closed bv a spring 2. The valve is pushed open by a rod 4, which is controlled by a bell-crank 7 pivoted on a bracket 8, and slides in a fitting x<1> connected to the T-fitting x by a coupling y. The air inlet fittings s has scavenging orifices t closed by screw plugs u, and the casing a has a pipe connexion v for clearing purposes.
