Abstract

An actuator 10 having an electric motor imparts linear movement to output number 14, the motor being supplied from a three-phase source through power amplifier 12 which receives an input signal from integrator 13. The latter receives a control signal of either polarity from generator 21, and an opposing D.C. signal from tachometer generator 20. The power amplifier 12 provides an output only when the input is above a predetermined value, operation of the motor being either as a continuous pulsating rotation or in discrete pulses of rotation between which the member 14 becomes motionless.
