Induction heating equipment comprising two or more parallel heating channels each formed by pairs of plate-type conductors which can be transversely moved to adjust the width of the channels to the size of workpieces that are to be heated while travelling therealong have electrical connections such that adjacent conductors of differing channels carry currents in the same direction. This avoids mutual cancellation of fields when adjacent conductors are moved very closely together to provide wide channels.
