Abstract

1,105,791. Voltage stabilizers. RICARDO & CO., ENGINEERS (1927) Ltd. Oct. 6, 1966 [Oct. 7, 1965], No.42692/65. Heading G3X. The electrical igniter 14 of a fuel burner Fig. 4 (not shown) for a heating system is supplied with a stabilized voltage from the secondary winding of a transformer 11 having its primary winding connected to the supply terminals 12 by way of a resistor 13 which preferably has a high positive temperature coefficient of resistance. The transformer is arranged to operate with its core saturated during the peaks of primary voltage, so that for a range of variation in primary voltage the corresponding change in secondary voltage is relatively slight, and the resistor 13 limits the magnitude of the magnetizing current during such operation.
