Abstract

1,104,437. Endless conveyers. G. SCHARDT. 29 Oct., 1965 [29 Oct., 1964; 27 Oct., 1965], No. 45959/65. Heading B8A. A conveyer belt comprises a belt band 1 with mounting bases 3 integral therewith along each edge thereof, each mounting base 3 has a longitudinal extending sinuous groove 9, in which to locate a corrugated skirt 10, and transverse grooves 11, 12 between the constituent curvilinear portions 7, 8 of the sinuous grooves 9 to provide additional flexibility and means whereby transverse webs 16 may be located on the belt, the webs being retained by clips 15. The skirtings 10 are either formed integral with the mounting base 3 by vulcanizing or releasably secured thereto by pins, wires &c. Lateral guide rollers (not shown) inclined radially at their periphery engage with inclined face 13 of the mounting base 3 and with a radial guide 6, if present. In manufacture, the corrugated skirt 10 is located adjacent the belt band 1 and the mounting base 3 is moulded therearound by shaping elements imparting the corrugations to the skirting 10 and the sloping faces 13 to the mounting base 3.
