Abstract

1,102,885. Transistor amplifiers. SIEMENS A.G. 17 May, 1965 [15 May, 1964], No. 20699/ 65. Heading H3T. In a multistage transistor amplifier, the stages Tsl, Ts2, are directly coupled by Zener diode Szl, and a Zener diode Sz3 is provided in the D.C. negative feedback path to the first stage Tsl to stabilize the circuit against temperature changes. The last stage may be a common collector arrangement Ts3 directly coupled to the preceding stage with or without a Zener diode Sz2. Negative feedback obtained from the signal is applied via a network N to the emitter of Ts1. The path between the emitters of Tsl and Ts2 may include a capacitor and phase correction of the signal negative feedback may be achieved by including a circuit across the emitter resistor R11 of Ts2. The coupling Zener diodes Szl, Sz2 may be shunted with a capacitor and together with Zener diode Sz3 are biased to operate in the Zener region by -UB. Ferrite tubes may be coupled round the collector electrodes of the transistors so as to prevent parasitic oscillations at high frequencies. As shown the circuit is a wide band amplifier but it may be made frequency selective. Also the last stage may be a common emitter circuit.
