Abstract

In double-apron drafting apparatus, to change the distance between the tensor-bars, the upper tensor bar is supported by side walls, and is turnable about an axis parallel to the nose of the tensor bar and to the axis of rotation of the upper apron roller; to this end it is connected to a member which can turn the bar about the said parallel axis, means being provided to releasably retain the member in anyone of a number of positions. In Fig. 1, the upper tensor bar 5 is pivotally mounted in side plates 4, 4', and is secured to one end of a pivoted lever 11 of which the other end can be moved into one of a number of recesses in a sector-member 12. A similar arrangement is adapted in Fig. 2, to the case where the upper roller is mounted in a capbar 9 and pivoted on a plate 6 secured to a member hooked over the journal of the roller and which carries a projection 10 bearing on the lower nose bar. In Fig. 6, the lever is pivoted at p1 and engages between projections 13 arranged on one of the walls.
